MuleSoft is a San Francisco-based cloud integration specialist. It develops software that makes it easier for organizations to incorporate cloud services and external data sources into their on-premise environments, a task made difficult by the sheer amount of plumbing work involved.
This morning the firm announced its new flagship offering, the Anypoint Platform. The product suite includes connectors that the company introduced back in May, the open-source Mule ESB integration platform, and the CloudHub integration platform as a service (iPaaS) solution. The bundle also includes the Mule Studio IDE.
Anypoint features a few new products as well. These include a point and click data mapping tool, toolkits for developing connectors and APIs and a cloud-based governance solution called Anypoint Service Registry. The platform is connected to MuleSoft’s online API repository, and comes with a hosted admin platform that simplifies the process of managing those APIs.
“Underlying all of the mega-trends and changes in the enterprise are APIs, which leverage Web standards to create a common language for the New Enterprise,” said Ross Mason, the co-founder and CTO of MuleSoft. “The next wave of innovation relies on how easily these applications connect to each other, and APIs are powering that hyperconnectivity. Today, organizations must connect to survive. The Anypoint Platform enables this connectivity, allowing enterprises to take advantage of the explosion of endpoints and data generated by the diverse set of best-of-breed applications powering their businesses.”
MuleSoft chose to unveil Anypoint right after securing $37 million in funding from NEA, Salesforce. Existing backers Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, SAP Ventures and Bay Partners also participated in the round, which brings the six year old company’s total funding to $81 million.
