Three Real Steve Jobs Documentaries to Watch Online [Plus a Fake Bonus]

Funny or Die has finally released iSteve, its mockumentary about the late Steve Jobs.  Originally, the film was supposed to air on the 15th, but was pushed back following the Boston bombing on Monday.

It’s a 78-minute film that let’s people see the “human side” of Jobs, like where Justin Long, the actor playing the iconic tech leader, was rehearsing for a keynote speech complete with index cards before going on to tell his life story.

Before you go on believing what you see on iSteve, remember that this is a mockumentary, which means it’s a parody or a comedic version of real documentaries.

I haven’t watch the whole thing though, but the start seems promising, so if you’re interested and have time to spare, watch the project that Funny or Die claims to be the longest project it’s ever worked on, clocking in three days for writing the script and five days for filming the project itself.  Oh, and it’s free, so you won’t be wasting your hard earned money either.

Kidding aside, there are serious and very real documentaries about Jobs that are available online.  So please, if you want to debate about the life of the late Apple eader, don’t base it on iSteve, you’ll probably be the one looking stupid.

Here are some online documentaries you might enjoy:

3 online documentaries about Steve Jobs

.

Steve Jobs: iChanged the World

This documentary shows a never-before-broadcast of an interview with Jobs expounding on his own philosophy of life, advice on how we can change our lives to reach our goals, desires and dreams.  It also features interviews of people personally close to him, or people he worked with, talking about Jobs’ work attitude.

Steve Jobs One Last Thing

This documentary was released soon after Jobs’ passing.  The PBS documentary “examines how his talent, style and imagination have shaped all of our lives, but the influences that shaped and molded the man himself.”

BBC Documentary: Steve Jobs – Billion Dollar Hippy

This documentary was also released shortly after Jobs’ death, and like many others, it talks about his revolutionary thinking and how “a long-haired college dropout with infinite ambition, and an inspirational perfectionist with a bully’s temper,” changed the course of technology.

If you’re not a fan of Steve Jobs, I’m sure you’ll enjoy Funny or Die’s mockumentary.  And if you want a little more dirt on Jobs, checkout “Good Riddance, Steve Jobs” by our very own Mike Wheatley.
