All About the Cloud Games for Xbox One in a Nutshell at E3 2013
The Xbox One, the new console from Microsoft, will be available from November 21. This has been one of the big announcements by Microsoft at the E3 conference, one of the largest in the industry. The device will be available for $499.99 in the U.S., 499 euros in Europe and 429 pounds in the UK.
Microsoft also released an improved and sleek edition of the Xbox 360 with a design in line with the new Xbox One, a model that will be available from Monday.
Microsoft wants to make one thing clear with their new Xbox: they haven’t forgotten about the games. Last month after Microsoft initially unveiled the Xbox One, legions of video game fans pounced. Too much emphasis presented on TV-related features.
On Monday, Microsoft put a slew of games front and center, including the exclusive and very bloody 300-flavoured action game Ryse: Son of Rome, the newest installment in the car-porn franchise Forza and Sunset Overdrive, by Ratchet & Clank creators Insomniac and the TV show/game hybrid Quantum Break from Alan Wake creators Remedy. And much more: a new installment in the Halo franchise, coming in 2014, Titanfall, Metal Gear Solid V, The Witcher 3, Dead Rising 3, and Battlefield 4.
There’s ability to put things in the cloud that you want to have computed, so you can take some of the computing capability that you might require locally.
Without further ado, here’s the list:
Sunset Overdrive
Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac comes with the open-world shooter Sunset Overdrive. The title has colorful graphics and third person shooter mechanisms. The game is full of monsters and the trailer showed a horde of pink monsters and a variety of playable characters shooting them with the kinds of unique weapons.
The game demo shows a stylized cartoon-like game, similar to what Insomniac did with Spyro, with an open shooter and always changing worlds.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Hideo Kojima has confirmed the expected version of Metal Gear Solid V for Xbox One, showing a new trailer more playing options – the wide open world mapping, greater emphasis on stealth, improved combat system and moving about the deck.
Killer Instinct
Rare’s fighting game franchise is finally seeing a new installment that seems to pay homage to the original. More than a third installment itself, it seems like the game that we know from before, but taking advantage of the graphical possibilities of the new console.
RYSE: Son Of Rome
The historical action for authoring studio Crytek will be released on launch day of the console. The gameplay shown suggests that any interaction with Kinect has fallen by the wayside, provided many quick time events and combos to execute against endless hordes of enemies.
Crytek has focused heavily on ensuring a spectacle based on graphical fidelity and lot of your actions are governed by contextual button presses, the left bumper being used for specific functions like forming a Phalanx or commanding archers to fire.
Forza Motorsport 5
The Turn 10 Studios upcoming title has been better finished among the presented chart. It has incredibly detailed cars, physics, lighting, paint and textures. The most important pitch about the new Forza is that you’ll still be playing even when you’re not online. As you play you’ll update a personal “Drivatar”, a breakthrough technology that learns how you and your friends drive, delivering real human behavior and an ever-evolving network of opponents always ready to race. You’ll learn from our driving style thus the game promises more advanced AI seen in any simulator.
The Witcher 3
The home studio CD Projekt Red revealed part of the game the third and final part of “The Witcher 3”. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt coming to Xbox One by taking full advantage of the cloud, Kinect integration and SmartGlass.
Battlefield 4
Battlefield 4 was arguably the game of the showcase. Dice’s first-person shooter allows massive 32 vs. 32 player battles where communication and strategy is the key to success.
Battlefield four points topped all eyes by its unique technical finish: sky, waves, debris and explosions beneath us. Dice’s Frostbite 3 engine wowed attendees with its large-scale, highly destructible environments.
Project Spark
It’s a game creation tool more than a game. The new Project Spark, which will be available both for Xbox One and Windows 8, can create players environments using SmartGlass. A demonstration was shown as how the environment can be provided to include textures, bridges and water features.
Dead Rising 3
Developer Capcom has revealed that it is working on Dead Rising 3. The open-world zombie game is coming exclusively from Xbox One. The game will offer players more freedom than its predecessors. Thus, it is possible to include climbing on the roofs of houses. Dead Rising 3 supports SmartGlass,
The demo was beautiful and really took full potential of the graphical capability to show hundreds of undead onscreen at once.
Crimson Dragon
The game is all about colonized planet ruled by dragons. It’s up to you to take control of a powerful dragon and battle for control of the skies in this thrilling flight-based shooter.
