Slimmest Portable Speaker, Smallest GPS Tracker + More

This week’s #SmartDevice roundup features the market’s self-proclaimed slimmest Hi-Def Bluetooth speaker, an Indiegogo project that aims to keep all your valuables in check, and a water bottle that lets you know if you’re not drinking enough H2O.

DASH7

It seems the best travel speakers are bulky, and the most portable deliver poor sound quality.  Is there nothing that reaches a happy medium?  If you’re still looking for a really good portable speaker that can still fit in your pocket, you may be interested in the DASH7.

DASH7 is a flat,  ¾ inch-high, wireless pocket-portable Bluetooth soundbar and speakerphone with huge omnidirectional sound.  It was developed by Soundmatters, a market leader in high-quality, portable speaker founded by former NASA engineer/audio legend Dr. Godehard Guenther.

DASH7 features 5th generation twoofer and BassBattery for true hi-fi sound, with an angled stand for direct on-axis high resolution music, creating a worthy soundstage with the best stereo separation for serious music listeners.

Available in Arctic White, Vibrant Red and Midnight Black for $219 and comes with an international charging kit, cables, combo stand/travel case.

LoccaMini

Tired of always losing your keys?  Can’t keep up with your pets?  Other GPS trackers aren’t doing it for you?  Then maybe you just haven’t found your perfect GPS match.

Launched as an Indiegogo project, the LoccaMini may be the GPS tracker of your dreams. It weighs only 23 grams and us about the size of a matchbox.

LoccaMini has a battery run time of seven days and live tracking, is shock and waterproof, comes with motion and crash sensors, speed control, beeper, and an LED flashlight.  It is supported internationally, so you also track your luggage.  Should you lose anything tagged with LoccaMini, you can track it down using the Locca app for iOS, Android, Windows Phone or the web app.

LoccaMini can track your pets and allow you to define safety zones such as Me Zone, Home Zone and Geo Zone.  If pets travel outside these safety zones, you will be quickly alerted via the app.  If you place it on your bike, the app will let you know if your parked bike is being moved or if it crashed.  You can use it as a keychain for your valuable things so you can easily find them, instead of spending hours searching your whole house looking for something you can easily track.

Locca is also available on another device, the LoccaPhone, which is ideal for kids and the elderly, as it allows for quick communication with the touch of a button.  If something bad happens, like they get in an accident, or God forbid, they were abducted, activating the emergency button will automatically submit your location to pre-installed contacts on the LoccaPhone.  Plus, all the other features of LoccaMini are still present in the LoccaPhone so you’ll be getting more value with this device.

BluFit

Even with hot summer days coming to a close, we still need to keep ourselves hydrated.  It’s hard to keep track of the amount of fluid we need each day, but things can be easier with the use of BluFit.

BluFit is a smart water bottle that directly connects with your smartphone to monitor your drinking habits to ensure that you are staying hydrated.  The cap of the bottle is where all the magic happens.

The inside of the cap is equipped with Bluetooth LE chip that connects it to the mobile app, water sensor, rechargeable battery, other electronics to make it all work together.  The exterior of the cap is fitted with lights for notifications, a small speaker and a USB port for recharging the battery that lasts around 7-10 days.  There’s also a user configurable button located on the top of the cap that can count laps, track reps, or be customized by the app for a variety of health and fitness needs.

BluFit is an Indiegogo project and it only has 28 days left to reach its funding goal of $150,000.  If you’re interested in seeing this device launch to market, be sure to back it up before time runs out.
