Overview : Nokia’s new Lumias for Windows Phone 8.1 | #bldwin
At Microsoft BUILD 2014, Nokia introduced three new Lumias running Windows Phone 8, the Lumia 630, 635 and 930.
“Today we are introducing people to the best of Lumia and the best of Microsoft through three stunning devices based on Windows Phone 8.1. In addition to the new developments from Microsoft, Nokia is delivering people an uncompromised imaging experience, great design and better business phones,” said Stephen Elop, executive vice president of Nokia’s Devices & Services. “We’re also pleased to bring the great developments in Windows Phone 8.1 to the Lumia devices people love today.”
New features for all
.
The devices will introduce a new feature called SensorCore, which provides innovative low-power motion sensing with Bing Health and Fitness. The SensorCore SDK is being piloted with select partners ahead of the public release of the devices.
The new Lumias will get an over-the-air update calle Lumia Cyan, which combines Windows Phone 8.1 more closely with the Lumia’s unique features. For instance Windows Phone 8.1 presents more homescreen information at a glance with LiveTiles, an improved Word FLow keyboard and a new Action Center for managing your device.
The roll out of the update will start in the summer, and consumers in the US will be the first to get Cortana, Microsoft’s personal digital assistant.
An updated Nokia Lumia SDK, the Imaging SDK 1.2 BETA, will be able for developers. This SDK will enable them to build the next generation of imaging and social apps.
