At the recently concluded CoinSummit in London, a preview of a comic was unveiled that’s sure to intrigue Bitcoin enthusiasts and common people alike.

Written by Alex Preukschat and Josep Busquet, with graphics by Jose Angel Ares Garcia, Bitcoin: The Hunt for Satoshi Nakamoto, is the first comic book about Bitcoin, and deals with  differing perspectives surrounding the cryptocurrency, plus the search for the real identity of the mysterious entity behind the conception of Bitcoin.

The writers didn’t divulge much about the storyline, but in the preview video, it involved the NSA, miners, and a man named Bob, who may or may not be Satoshi Nakamoto.

Preukschat and Busquet have been working on this project since October 2013, with the final work set to be published in October of this year.  Unfortunately, it’ll only be available in Spanish, so if you need to brush up on your spanish, better start doing that now. There’s no news if an english version will be released, but we’d imagine if it goes down well with Spanish speakers someone will want to translate it.

Despite the title of the comic book, it doesn’t really intend to crack the mystery behind the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto. In an interview with ElBitcoin.org, Preukschat stated that the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto should remain anonymous.

Preukschat’s involvement in Bitcoin started in 2011 when he came across a video of Amir Taaki discussing the cryptocurrency. He tried to open an account on Mt.Gox but said that he ended up losing his money which caused him to lose interest in Bitcoin. However, his interest was rekindled last year with encouragement from Felix Moreno and Tuur Demeester.

But why make a comic book focusing on Satoshi Nakamoto?

Preukschat said he always wanted to create a comic book that revolves around money, and with Bitcoin emerging as a potential replacement for cash, it was a perfect fit. As for Satoshi Nakamoto, the identity of the person or people behind it has always intrigued Bitcoin enthusiasts, it’s like “Where’s Waldo?” for Bitcoin geeks. Plus, a comic book is a way to get younger people interested in Bitcoin, and who doesn’t like comic books with a good story and interesting plot?

As Preukschat stated, the comic is a fun way to learn more about Bitcoin.  He remains positive that it will appeal to Bitcoin noobs and experts alike.
