Samsung “Connected Living. Connecting Developers” Event

Samsung has announced the international Samsung Developer Conference, which will bring together the community of developers to focus on software and services in the areas of health, wearables, virtual reality, smart home and games.

The conference will arrive on November 11-13, at Moscone West, San Francisco. The title of this year’s conference is “Connected Living. Connecting Developers” and interested parties may participate by finding more information on the web site. The conference includes more than 10 topics during a total of 90 action-packed sessions.

Samsung recognizes the role of developers as more important than ever, because combining multiple personal devices is the key to creating differentiated user experience. Developers have the opportunities of integrating content and services on Samsung devices such as smartphones Galaxy, Gear, Smart TV and Samsung appliances.

The Smart Health session will include technical modules and workshops for a variety of subjects on Smart Health. Developers will have the opportunity to learn more about the use of sensors to wearable devices and how to use information provided to innovate new achievements within the health sector.

The Conference will also provide developers with the knowledge and tools to create content for the Gear VR built by Samsung in collaboration with the Oculus. Developers will learn about the new possibilities offered by virtual worlds, how to use augmented reality, how to create a unique mobile experience and how to proceed with the development of 2D content to 3D.

The mobile theme includes advice and expertise to enable developers to refine or update Android apps. Experienced developers will share their knowledge in the field of memory and power management, quality assurance, and design issues. Contributors will describe how they have used solutions using the Samsung SDK for fingerprints, audio, curved screen, wheel etc.

Another topic will be the development of mobile games and those sessions will provide developers with new information and techniques for creating exciting games.

Finally, Samsung will include a series of sessions dedicated to the wearable market segment, which is a strong break-out within the Internet of Things mobile market.

With the developer conference, Samsung plans to create an open ecosystem that can embrace the different needs of various companies. There will be several opportunities for developers who develop applications for device manufacturers and service providers in the coming months.

Samsung mobile sales have fallen across the board. Entertainment, health, IoT and virtual reality are next high growth categories that Samsung has shown a keen interest in of late. With developers due to attend the company’s second developer conference in San Francisco, Samsung hopes the developers community will help expand Samsung’s ecosystem beyond mobiles and devices.
