Roost smart battery integrates with Facebook’s Parse

At the F8 Facebook Developer Conference, Roost, the smart Wi-Fi enabled 9v battery maker, announced its pioneering integration with Facebook’s Parse IoT. Roost has chosen Parse, a cloud app platform, as its cloud infrastructure provider for its smart battery and entire smart home platform.

The Roost smart battery turns old smoke or CO₂ detectors into smart gadgets, without purchasing entirely new devices or rewiring. Just swap your old 9v battery with Roost, download the accompanying iOS or Android app and start receiving notifications from your now smart smoke detector. It alerts you if your smoke alarm was triggered and when it needs you to replace the battery. You can even assign emergency contacts, which will be immediately informed when the alarm is triggered.
