Entrepreneur and operator roles in OpenStack | #OpenStackSeattle

The future of OpenStack is dependent on a lot of factors – who is using it, how they are using it and what they are trying to create. John Furrier, cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, recently talked to thought-leader Sriram Subramanian, founder and CEO of CloudDon, LLC, about the changes to OpenStack and the future of operators in the industry.

OpenStack for operators

“We are talking more about applications, right?” said Subramanian, “I am seeing more start-ups working on solving those problems. … The one thing we can hope for, which is good for OpenStack, would be how to make it much easier for operators.”

Subramanian explained the shifting roles of start-up companies, big players and industry leaders and also talked about how customers are consuming and what their needs are.

Entrepreneurial opportunity

From portability to container management, there are spaces for new ideas to come into the game. Subramanian shares his thoughts on making running applications easier and making lifecycles easier to manage, as well as security, compliance and development, in addition to packaged solutions to help developers connect with users.
