Like its name implies, Tigera, Inc. is tackling the container game with ferocity. Although the company is currently a lean start-up of 15 employees, it has big hopes for its future.
Tigera’s CEO Andrew Randall sat down with John Furrier (@furrier) and Lisa Martin (@Luccazara), cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during OpenStack Days: Silicon Valley 2016 to discuss how Tigera is changing the world of Big Data.
The best place to start when it comes to containers is with a solid foundation. “We used to burn it down and rebuild,” said Randall. “But if you’re thinking about something that you need to grow from, you need more of an elegant underpinning.”
These underpinnings are nothing without an equally sophisticated security system in place — which is all the more important in the days of rampant data breaches.
Randall stressed the importance of security at Tigera, which relies on a multi-layered system to protect data.
“If you look at the highly publicized data breaches, one thing most of them have in common is that people have broken through a perimeter,” said Randall, “We need a solid, finegrain system when it comes to security.”
