X.ai launches paid pro edition of its AI personal assistant, business version coming

After nearly three years of closed beta testing, x.ai Inc. is launching the Professional edition of its AI personal assistant that removes the hassle of scheduling meetings.

The main product for x.ai is two personal assistants called Amy and Andrew, with which you communicate via email. There is no app to download and as soon as you sign up you can get Amy or Andrew to take over your meeting scheduling.

Speaking about the long beta testing involved, Dennis Mortensen, founder and chief executive officer of x.ai, said in the press release, “Teaching a machine to understand natural language, even using the most advanced data science, is by any definition super hard. Add to that the fact that meeting scheduling is a high accuracy setting. So it was important for us to wait to roll out a paid product until we felt Amy was smart enough to schedule meetings nearly flawlessly.”

The professional edition is the first of three editions that the company plans to roll out over the coming months. Employees from companies like Walmart, Salesforce, LinkedIn, The New York Times, and One Zero Capital have been testing the professional edition of x.ai. The professional edition, however, is aimed at individuals. For companies looking for enterprise-level support, x.ai will be launching a business edition soon.

Here’s a look at the pricing and features of the x.ai professional edition, together with the pricing and features you can expect with the business edition.

Pricing for professional and business plan

The professional edition costs $39 per month billed annually or $42.55 if you want to pay on a monthly basis. Visit the x.ai site to sign up for the professional edition and you will get immediate access to Amy or Andrew.

When the business edition is launched it will cost $59 per month billed annually or $64.36 paid monthly. If you are interested in the business edition you can sign up with your email address to be alerted when it’s available.

X.ai also offers a free personal edition. At the moment the company has a long waiting list for the free edition, but you can include your email on the x.ai site and get alerted when there is availability.

  • Supported calendars: X.ai professional edition offers support for Gmail, Outlook.com, Google Apps for Work and Office 365.

In addition to all the features offered by the professional edition, the business edition will also offer users the following:
