These are the new smartphones to expect at CES next week

When the Consumer Electronics Show officially starts next week in Las Vegas, all eyes will be on new midrange smartphones set to debut at the show.

Although flagship smartphones are normally reserved for Mobile World Congress that takes place in February, CES will showcase the more affordable models from a variety of manufacturers. Although CES officially starts on Jan. 5, various press conferences will start as early as next Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Here’s a look at the various manufacturers who are rumored to launch new smartphones at CES 2017:

New smartphones from LG, Samsung, Asus, more

TCL and BlackBerry

Chinese manufacturer TCL Corp., the exclusive global manufacturer and distributor for all upcoming BlackBerry Ltd.-branded smartphones, are expected to unveil the latest BlackBerry devices at CES 2017.

TCL was previously involved with BlackBerry on the production of the DTEK50 and DTEK60.

TCL’s press conference is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 11 a.m. PST.

LG

At CES 2017, LG Electronics will unveil four new mass-tier K Series smartphones (pictured above) and the new LG Stylo 3.

The new devices are designed to bring features from LG’s premium flagship smartphones, like the 120-degree wide angle front camera lens, 2.5D Arc Glass design and rear fingerprint scanner, to the mid-range market. The handsets that will be unveiled at CES include the K10, K8, K4, K3 and Stylus 3.

In addition to the budget devices, LG could also showcase its 2017 flagship smartphone – the LG G6.

LG’s press conference is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 8 a.m. PST.
