Confirmed: Twitter Hires Bain and Hill, Growing Sales & Revenue

The news of Bain’s move from News Corp. to Twitter has been confirmed, with some extra icing. Brent Hill, a former Google Sales executive, will also be joining Twitter as the director of sales for Central U.S.

“With Adam and Brent joining the team, we now have senior sales executives from a wide spectrum of industry leaders, including Fox, Google, Facebook and Yelp, comprising our leadership team,” a statement from Twitter chief operating officer Dick Costolo read. “We expect this team to build on our already strong momentum in providing promotions and deals that bring value to both users and an increasing number of brands.”

As we mentioned yesterday, the growth of Twitter’s sales and revenue department is key to its montization moving forward. Combined with the other new hires (Amanda Levy, amongst others) to Twitter’s sales team, Bain and Hill will be expected to help move Twitter to the next level, realizing all the expectations placed upon the network from early on.

From here on out, Twitter will need to also focus on privacy and consumer interests, as it branches out its services and products to accommodate brand advertising.
