Palo Alto streets will be closed tonight from 5-8pm in preparation for tonight’s scheduled fundraising visit by President Barack Obama to the home of Google executive Marissa Mayer.
Marissa lives right around the corner from me so I might do a fly by. I’ve been to Marissa’s house before as she is known for throwing very good parties. Unlike previous reports those parties have been vary family friendly. This time she is friending up with President Obama as the president is “searching” for “local” donations. The private fundraising dinner has a hefty admission price of $30,000 for up to 50 persons, according to news reports.
Mayer’s home at 551 Addison Ave. is a short distance from my house as well as the famous garage used by HP founders William Hewlett and David Packard. Marissa has her home “tricked out” big time with massive Halloween decorations, eschewing pre-election trappings of red-white-and-blue.
Good for Marissa and I wonder if Obama will visit some of the VCs in the hood since he wants to regulate them. As the rest of the country is experiencing a financial and housing crisis, Palo Alto is doing great with all the Google, Facebook money flowing. Housing prices remain stable.
