Executive Chas Edwards leaves Digg for newly-based Pixazza

Digg, one of the existing social news websites is currently facing a downside at the executive level. The leaving of the publisher and chief revenue officer, Chas Edwards, will also have an influence on Digg’s status in the social news domain as it also had in the last period.

Chas Edwards’ leaving for Pixazza will not influence the relations between him and Digg as Edwards confirmed that he will still advise the company from now on. Referring to the newly-appointed chief executive officer, Matt Williams apologized for the latest miscarry in relaunch of the news aggregator and assured that this issue will be dealt with immediately, reports AllThingsD.

The social bookmarking site has seen a great deal of drama the past few weeks, as the site underwent a major overhaul, unable to retain the support of a good portion of its userbase.  As Digg has spent years tweaking its system to bring back the air of early-adopted thrills, a number of competing sites, methods and networks have taken over mainstream usage, media-sharing and ranking.
