Dating is a Big Part of Mobile Behavior

Following the success of the Apple App Store, GetJar has reported a 70% increase in Flirtomatic, the flirting social network that can be accessed via phone or PC. Up to now, one million downloads have been reached by Flirtomatic on GetJar, emphasizing the market fragmentation and the importance of mobile phones on personalizing individuals’ interests.

It is accounted that 70% of the Flirtomatic downloads turn into participating users, thus Flirtomatic receiving 19% of all downloads registered each month. GetJar introduced a Pay-Per-Download (PPD) solution, allowing users to bid and increase their visibility.

In the last decade the popularity of mobile phones has increased unbelievably. Nowadays, our schedules are so busy,  our deadlines are tighter and tighter and our obsession with staying connected with the loved ones 24 hours a day has led to out dependency on this tiny gadget. The use of mobile phone has extended along the years, from the basic calling and texting functions to making bank operations, making appointments, bookings, video calling, listening to music, gaming and socializing, up to the point where we can flirt via the mobile phone.

In the future the marrying couples might be giving each other the wedding rings via mobile phones…who knows?

Dating is a growing area of interest for the mobile sector, as we see with changing marketing tactics from Millnnial Media’s September SMART Report.  Women in particular make up a number of influential demographic groups.
