Americans Stay Connected (and Working) via Email for the Holidays

A survey study released from Xobni, an email inbox management tool, says that many of us plan on checking our email through the holidays. The online study was carried out during November, and reveals that 59 percent of working American adults check their work emails during the traditional holidays.  About 79 percent of the survey subjects admitted having received a ‘work-related email from a colleague or client on holidays’ and 42 percent of them appreciate this opportunity of keeping updated as it eases their work when they have to return to office.

Another survey  carried out in the USA, United Kingdom and China reveals that 60 percent of travelers prefer social media tools such as Facebook when it comes to informing relatives of their whereabouts. A telephone call or sending an email has become a disinclination for more than half of the research subjects, because a single message posted on the Facebook wall informs not only the family but every person in the Friends list. Some would argue that this saves time, money and energy, although details communicated via telephone can save more time, are more accurate, and the voice of a beloved person can help us overcome stressful situations.

Regarding the availability of public WiFi locations, a report from JiWire shows that there is a notable growth in the public WiFi usage in the United Stated and China, the United Stated having 93k public WiFi locations, followed by China with almost 40k WiFi locations.

Lastly, Dropbox will help users access their own personal cloud data for  shopping purposes through the Dropbox Apps Directory available for iPhones, Androids and PCs.
