A move towards its goal in penetrating the mobile market Juniper Networks secured a huge deal for the iPad. The announcement was made along with the launch of Juno Pulse for the iPad—a mobile security and remote connectivity service specifically developed for this latest “apple of the eye.”
Juniper Networks is pushing its products to the mobile industry as it sees that mobile security is still weak for enterprise purposes. The global leader extends Junos Pulse to the iPad to enable secure access to corporate resources. This simply means that companies will be given the right to view exchanges of confidential business-related data and transactions of employees with their company-issued iPad.
To prove that they are dead serious in making their presence known within the mobile market, Juniper Networks recently acquired Trapeze Networks, a technology leader in enterprise wireless local area network (WLAN) systems and management software. The deal is expected to close in the last quarter of this year. This acquisition has somewhat solidified the company’s grounds on mobile and enterprise platforms.
Juniper Networks has been busy with its other security launches, with aims to secure small to mid-sized firms, including service provider- and mobile operator data center environments. The SRX1400 is a fused security services doorway that protects networks against attacks and unauthorized access on critical infrastructure. This includes safeguarding of your internet connection on the Gi interface, roaming exchanges and signaling networks, as it is made for mobile networks and applications as well.
Junos Pulse App for the iPad is already available for download in Apple iTunes App Store. With more than 7 million units sold around the globe, securing the device is Apple’s gratitude response to the warm reception of their new “a bit expensive” gadget.
