Sibblingz for Bing as Users Search for Play Time

After Microsoft struck a deal with Sibblingz’s sister company CrowdStar recently, the cross-platform app launching framework provider announced it can put social games inside the Bing search engine. This is a very innovative approach to incorporate social gaming, but it’s only the latest of Bing’s efforts to win over Google users by improving portal appeal and directly improve features into the search engine.

“The version of Happy Island for Bing will have a new mini-game unique to the search engine. Customers using Bing can play and progress through the first levels of Happy Island without having to sign in. They will also be able to log in using Facebook account and associate their game environment with their Facebook friends.“

Giving users immediate access to various features including travel, shopping, social networking and more is a good concept, at least in theory, and Microsoft seems very eager to rapidly expand their search engine. SiliconANGLE’s coverage of Bing’s San Fran event this week seems to confirm the above as these include Bing Vision – an outside world search engine capturing text and barcodes via mobile cameras – Panorama Maker and Streetside View. Photos from the Bing Search Summit are available here.

Sibblingz is yet another part of MS’s steady delving into social gaming, though most of their efforts so far were channeled through Live Messenger.
