Play Singstar Songs On Your PC with Ultrastar Deluxe
We’ve covered how to play user-generated games on PC, and while user-generated content is very much in demand, another popular avenue for gamers is that of open source clones. One such game is Ultrastar Deluxe, is an open source clone of Singstar for Windows, Linux and Mac.
The game comes bundled with a few songs, though a quick Google search will let you find hundreds more. If you own a Singstar game, you can also convert the songs. You can also select skins that look just like Singstar, or create your own theme.
The classic battle and party modes are available, and you can play with up to six players. Ultrastar Deluxe’s gameplay is exactly the same as Singstar’s: Keep the pitch, score points. You can add you own songs, and edit them to work with the game. All you have to do is select an mp3 file along with an optional video or image background, and a text file that contains the lyrics. The game works with You can use any USB microphone, and since there are drivers available for most console mics, you could use them, too.
Just don’t come to us if your neighbors complain about the noise!
