HTC Launches Additional 4G Smartphones at CES

HTC announced 2 additional 4G Smartphones this week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The ThunderBolt for Verizon and the Inspire for AT&T come alongside another Smartphone launched earlier this week, the EVO Shift 4G. Both the ThunderBol and the Inspire reportedly feature a 4.3″ screen and look fairly similar – if not almost identical – to the HTC Desire HD.

“The HTC ThunderBolt is my bet to be the first LTE phone released for Verizon. During Verizon’s keynote today, Verizon officials announced that the first LTE phones would be available beginning in March, and since we have seen numerous leaks involving this phone, my guess is that it will be the first horse out of the stable.”

The ThunderBolt features Sony’s SLCD technology, a 8 mpx rear camera and 1.3 mpx front camera and built-in Skype integration, as well as a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor. The Inspire in turn features Dolby Digital and SRS surround sound.

HTC is obviously trying to spread its 4G devices across as many carriers as possible – a total of 6 devices including the latest two. HTC had big expectations for CES, and siliconANGLE covered how its PR agency, Waggener Edstrom, sent out imaginative packages hinting towards HTC’s device releases.
