A leading provider of hosting and co-location, Datagram, Inc. today announced a deal with ShoutEm, offering its mobile application deployment platform to Datagram customers. With ShoutEm’s Enterprise Edition, there is greater control and flexibility of mobile application, which is a great compliment to Datagram’s existing product. It is a branch out of the ShoutEm platform and is designed for a large user base– highlighting support for greater volumes, multiple applications across a single user base, advanced reporting and customization options, dedicated support and account management resources, and SLA uptime guarantees.
Datagram is an internet solutions company that enables clients to efficiently leverage the Internet to achieve their objectives by providing highly reliable network and datacenter-based services, such as dedicated hosting, internet access, collocation and disaster recovery. ShoutEm, on the other hand, is a VC-backed provider of advanced mobile publishing platforms. It’s flagship product, the ShoutEm mobile application builder, is a powerful yet easy-to-use tool for small and medium businesses.
“With this partnership, we are bringing a state-of-the art mobile solution to our publishing customers,” said Michael Dietz, Datagram’s Vice President of Sales. “Our customers can now deploy feature-rich and customized mobile applications for their users at a fraction of the cost of competing solutions and in a matter of days instead of weeks or months.”
“We are delighted to be partnering with Datagram to offer their customers a world-class mobile app experience,” said Viktor Marohnic, CEO, ShoutEm. “ShoutEm Enterprise Edition is a natural extension of our broader social and mobile strategy which enhances the app deployment experience for publishers, businesses, clubs, bloggers, and end users.”
Aside from Datagram, several other companies are joining forces across the industry, landing mobile-centric partnerships. Appcelerator, for one, teamed up with Engine Yard for a similar cloud solution. The partnership will breed a hybrid solution that will streamline the deployment of Rails applications. There’s also Scoreloop, which took the initiative to make it easier for iOS game developers to import their games on Android with the deployment of GoAndroid.
Similarly, Openfeint joined forces with Chinese online game operator The9 for the same end as Scoreloop. Finally, there’s Papaya Mobile partnering with Application for Good (AP4G) to push breakthrough mobile applications for public utilization, as well as developed games centered on social good. The games will be made available to the Android market.
The trend is noteworthy as we start to see certain levels of industry consolidation, particularly around the service offerings for supplementing iT products, services and developer tools. It’s a trend that Appcelerator noted in an a report earlier this year, and greatly mimics what we’re seeing across the cloud industry, which is backing much of what the mobile realm is able to do with its new technology and ecosystem.
