IBM Builds Up on Real Estate Solutions, Acquires TRIRIGA

IBM is dead serious in pushing for its smarter building initiatives. Today, the premier IT and solutions company plans to buy out TRIRIGA, a known provider of real estate management software solutions housed in Las Vegas. IBM is staying faithful to its smarter building campaigns with TRIRIGA acquisition. This move will also push the organization closer its 2015 goal of earning half its profits from software. TRIRIGA’s programs have the ability manage buildings, strategize space utilization, monitoring utility costs, lease administration, facility condition assessment and approximation of construction expense.

IBM Energy and Environment Executive, Florence Hudson discusses how the acquisition will boost smarter buildings software of the company. He said, “The combination of TRIRIGA and IBM smarter building solutions will deliver the industry’s most comprehensive capabilities that span the needs of all industries for managing facilities and real estate portfolios. Having one view of building operations worldwide will be a powerful tool to help organizations control and optimize their second-largest corporate expense — property.”

Spanning from all corners of the world, IBM is present in almost every fertile land and having TRIRIGA programs at hand will aid them in pursuing smarter buildings portfolio. Its global alliance and cloud adoption are two factors of the enterprise’s strong presence everywhere. It has in fact taken cloud computing to China and the Asia Pacific. IBM allocated around $38 million for this intercontinental expansion. Celebrating its centennial year, New York-based consulting and technology giant has long been involved in building green data centers. They teamed up with Bank of China in London to help them construct ecological hubs. Recently, IBM, together with Cable&Wireless created the UK Smart Energy Cloud to keenly monitor power consumption of the country.

With people and organizations being more conscious about the importance of going green, IBM will surely has its way to be one with environmentalists at the same time generating revenue.
