Martin Homlish is HP’s New CMO

Hewlett-Packard is making an executive-level adjustment with the appointment of Martin Homlish as new vice president and CEO, to replace Michael Medenhall who left the position back in January. HP didn’t disclose much of this corporate departure. Homlish will look after the company’s marketing activities as their focus shifts from hardware to cloud computing services.

Prior to his current role in HP, Homlish was SAP’s global chief marketing officer and corporate officer, as well as president and chief executive of SAP’s global marketing before that. He has been with the company for 10 years. He has also been with Sony Corporation for 15 years prior to joining SAP and was Sony’s head of Sony Corporate Marketing Services division and Sony’s Media Solutions Company president.

HP’s not the only one having executive-level changes. Following Cisco CEO John Chamber’s memo to all employees last week regarding the company’s lack of focus, Nawaf Bitar, Cisco’s vice president of engineering and operation for the security, and Debra Chrapty, Cisco Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Collaboration Software Group, left the company after having worked for the company for 15 years and 4 years, respectively.

Bitar is transferring to Juniper Networks where he will serve as vice president and general manager of Emerging Technologies while Chrapta will be with Zynga as Chief Information Officer. Aside from Cisco, Apple’s also getting a new executive for NC Data Center in the person of Kevin Tmmons, formerly spearheading Microsoft’s data center business.
