SAP Software in the Spotlight Thanks to IBM and Sybase

German business software maker SAP managed to gain its broad offerings portfolio quite a bit of traction in the enterprise space, both among customers and solution providers. One of the most recent developments is with IBM, which partnered up with Worksoft, an automated business process validation and testing solutions provider. The latter announced at the IBM Innovate 2011 conference it has entered into a remarketing agreement with the tech industry veteran, which will resell its Worksoft Certify flagship automated functional test software that offers extensive support for SAP applications.

IBM will make Worksoft Certify available to its customers via a number of channels:

“As part of the agreement, IBM will make Certify available to its customers through its Passport Advantage program system, as well as Certify Impact and Certify Data.”

Worksoft’s products will be made available as an integration to the IBM Rational Quality Management suite purposed for testing environments running SAP solutions.

Another update from the weekend comes from the direction of Sybase, an SAP company. Sybase, working in the area of enterprise and mobile data management, announced China’s Centre for Information Industry Development (CCID) Consulting awarded it with the title of “2010-2011 Most Successful Database Software Vendor in China.” Sybase is the only company that has received this award two years in a row, and is now the second highest ranked database software vendor in several major sectors in the country. That includes a market share ranging around 25 percent in the Chinese telecommunications, banking and insurance industries.

SAP has set itself a goal of greatly increasing revenues in the near future, and big data analytics and mobile will play the two most crucial roles in this strategy. Back at SAP SAPhire 2011, the company announced a team-up with Accenture to develop solutions based on, among other things, the Sybase Unwired Platform.
