Windows Phone 7 is back in the hunt. As I mentioned previously, both Evernote and Foodspotting recently added new versions of their app for Microsoft’s mobile platform. Kik Messenger is the next in line to provide a real-time group messaging app to Windows Phone 7. Possibly the first Group Messenger to reach iPhone, Android, and WP7.
To all you wonderfully patient Windows Phone people out there: today is a great day! You’ve been asking us for Kik Messenger for the last few months, and we’re very excited to finally welcome you into the Kik community. Here’s a taste of what you can expect:
Download Kik Messenger for Windows Phone 7 here and try it for yourself!
As you might guess, sometimes the process of bringing an app to a new platform can take a little longer than expected, especially since we wanted to give Windows Phone users the same crazy-fast, reliable experience that our iPhone and Android users enjoy. The good news is that we think the extra word paid off and that Kik Messenger for Windows Phone is hands-down the best smartphone messenger available on the platform. We hope you agree after giving it a try!
Other good news: we didn’t just slap on a skin that is similar to our iPhone and Android versions of the app – instead, we dressed Kik Messenger in the fantastic Windows Phone ‘Metro’ styling that we’ve all come to love.

GroupMe, Beluga, and FastSociety support multiple platforms, but do not have a Windows Phone 7 version. This is a great step in making communication cross-platform and real-time. I firmly don’t believe Paris Hilton can top this.
Kik is doing an outstanding job of keeping it real. It’s not just a spin-off of saying “we’re real-time”. The community is a huge contributor behind the Windows Phone 7 release.
Personally, this is the first time I’ve spent thinking about a WP7 for over 5 minutes. The new Kik user interface set the standard for my attention span.
THANK YOU
