HP Infrastructure Powers AlMajdouie Logistics
With hopes of improving its operations, AlMajdouie Group has selected HP Converged Infrastructure – which includes servers, storage, backup and services. HP’s packaged infrastructure automates the relevant operations of AlMajdouie Group.
AlMajdouie Group is one of the leading integrated transportation and logistics providers in the Middle East. The company started as a land transport company and it grow into a group of companies with different activities. The company spans all over the Middle East with associate offices in North America, Europe and Africa.
With the HP Converged Infrastructure, AlMajdouie Group could easily manage data. Part of the infrastructure is the HP StoreOnce Backup System, which ensures data integrity by eliminating redundant data. This trims the amount of data to be stored by as much as 95%. The HP Converged Infrastructure also has the HP EVA and HP ProLiant DL980 G7/DL320 G6 servers which ensure the availability of data to AlMajdouie’s business applications. Another part of the infrastructure is the HP Ultrium Tape Library, which automatically creates backup tapes – necessary for data archival and data retrieval in emergency cases.
“HP is providing a complete hardware infrastructure to deliver the performance, availability and scalability we need for the automation of all our business models,” says Ihab Hawari, IT Manager, AlMajdouie Group.
“The second-generation HP StoreOnce devices will give us a rapid restore capability for disaster recovery, and the HP EVAs and servers are scalable enough to respond to our business needs over the coming years.”
HP is definitely looking to set standards for the next generation of IT. The converged infrastructure unifies various HP technologies which makes it simpler and accessible for enterprises and large organizations.
