Toshiba has begun providing new services for e-printing, linking cloud computing with mobile handsets in the US. Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of managed print and professional services and an independent operating company of Toshiba Corporation Japan, unveiled the availability of the HP ePrint Enterprise mobile printing solution through Toshiba Business Solutions subsidiaries across the US.
This service does not require dedicated client software or servers and can be easily installed in mobile devices. The new offering will allow users to print presentations, photos, reports and more from their smartphones on the cloud through the HP ePrint Enterprise mobile printing solution. To find a local ePrint public print location, users need to use GPS system.
As the use of mobile device grows at a remarkable pace, the devices used for work have changed, and so does the capability to print out websites directly from mobile devices. To meet this demand, Toshiba is supporting HP’s mobile application ePrint services. Using HP ePrint printing, users can directly, without any connection to the Internet, connect to printers.
“At Toshiba, we know that the needs of our printing customers are constantly evolving, and we’re dedicated to helping our TBS subsidiaries meet those needs, both in and out of the traditional office setting,” said Tony Venice, manager, Strategic Product Management, Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. “Enhancing our relationship with HP from offering imaging and printing devices to offering the ePrint Enterprise solution helps us provide our end users the flexibility they need to conduct business without being tied to the office printer.”
Toshiba is already a robust provider of Managed Print Services (MPS). The inclusion of HP’s ePrint solution will further strengthen Toshiba revenue stream in the US by offering printing solutions in the cloud.
This is not the first time HP and Toshiba have joined hands. Both the companies are working together on developing cloud offering on energy conservation, transportation, telecommunications and medical sectors, among others. Given HP’s leadership in e-printing, it’s evident that this is an ongoing development for the computer maker as it stretches solutions around its products to fit our changing lifestyles and corporate demands.
