

New Relic added a free server monitoring service to its application performance management tool. The new service will measure CPU, memory, network activity and processes. New Relic already offered developers the ability to monitor application performance on the server and browser side. Now it’s adding the ability to track what’s happening further down the stack, bringing everything needed to troubleshoot application performance under one roof.
New Relic offers performance on monitoring for applications written in Ruby, Java, .NET, PHP and Python, as well as SQL performance monitoring. It added its real time user monitoring features earlier this year. The service can be used in both private and public cloud environments and New Relic has a number of partners offering turnkey integration with the company’s solutions, including Amazon Web Services, Rackspace, Joyent, Heroku and Engine Yard.
