CES Update: More Tablets and TVs to Watch Out For [Video]
We’ve been CES crazed for more than a week now but can you really blame us? Waiting for brands to unveil drool-inducing products is like a kid waiting to open his presents on Christmas day. Yes, we’re giddy about the products being unveiled at this year’s CES. It gives us something to look forward to, and sometimes even slam. ;)
We already reported about the new products from Lenovo, Tobii’s eye controlled computers, Motorola’s new smartphones and connected device and some products we’ve already reported last year like the Samsung Windows Tablet, but here are some more upcoming goodies.
Toshiba
Toshiba announced the new Excite X10 tablet at CES 2012, and aims to launch it sometime this quarter. The Toshiba Excite X10 will sell for $529 for the 16GB version, and $599 for 32GB, and runs on Honeycomb, not Ice Cream Sandwich, but it will come to the device soon enough.
Samsung
Samsung announced a line of Wi-Fi cameras: WB850F, WB150F, ST200F, and the DualView DV300F. The Wi-Fi feature allows users to backup photos and videos to Samsung’s new cloud storage site called AllShare Play or to Microsoft SkyDrive; directly upload to Facebook, YouTube, Picasa, and Photobucket or send to an e-mail address; and control the cameras remotely via a Remote Viewfinder app.
Samsung also brought their 55” OLED TV, rivaling LG’s 55” OLED Smart TV powered by Google TV. Specs of the Samsung OLED TV were not yet made public.
And last but not the least, Samsung unveiled the Series 5 Ultra, an affordable version of the Series 9 Ultrabook launched last year. The Series 5 Ultra comes in 13 and 14” and pricing starts at $899.
HP
Hewlett-Packard announced the HP Envy 14 Spectre, the company’s first consumer-oriented ultrabook that comes equipped with Gorilla Glass to make it scratch resistant. The Gorilla Glass covers the display, lid, palm rest, and touch pad – making it seem too fragile. It also features Beats Audio and comes with an inset analog wheel for volume control.
The Envy 14 Spectre features an Intel Core i5-2467M processor (not Ivy Bridge), 4GB of RAM, 128GB SSD drive, ports: Ethernet, USB 3.0, HDMI, and Mini DisplayPort, support for: HP Wireless Audio, Bluetooth, WiDi, and NFC, and full versions of Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements comes preinstalled.
