Millennial Media Unwraps Toolbox with New SDKs, Dev Site

Mobile ad network Millennial Media released version 4.5 of its Android and iOS SDKs yesterday, and rolled out an update to its developer site, mmDev.com.

The new SDKs feature a few enhancements, most notably support for iOS 5. The launch comes not to long after the release of the latest iPhone, which means Millennial is making an effort to stay up to date with market trends. In addition to extending support the new SDKs also feature more functionality, such as improved interstitial controls, video callbacks, and enhanced ad targeting to help marketers better reach their target audiences.

Moving on to the developer site update, the main addition is Client Ads. This new feature lets developers sell their clients ad campaigns powered by Millennial’s platform, and adds a whole new channel through which the company can monetize its developer ecosystem. In addition to this new feature, Millennial also simplified House Ads, a platform with which mobile developers can advertise on their own products; and tweaked its site’s metrics and reporting functionality.

Millennial’s previous update to its developer site introduced two new features, test device recognition and App Store sync. Users that leverage its platform can order test ads deployable in up to 100 devices, and sync any app data they store on the ad network with the App Store. This includes updates to app descriptions, etc.

Prior to this website update, Millennial launched version 4.1 of its Android SDK. Some of the functions in that release introduced include full page ads for the mobile OS, support for interactive elements within full-page ads, and the ability to make some parts of those ads transparent, thus creating a more rich graphical experience overall. Support for XML layouts and easier integration were among the other additions.
