Following the acquisition of Cocoafish to implement mobile cloud services, Appcelerator hires a former HP exec to assume the COO post. Mayfield EIR and former Hewlett-Packard lead, Sandeep Johri will now oversee the company’s daily operations and growing enterprise demands. He carries with him more than two decades of solid experience in driving strategic maneuvers in large-scale and start-up environments alike.
Jeff Haynie, Appcelerator’s CEO is thrilled to welcome Johri on-board.
“We are thrilled to have Sandeep, a proven entrepreneur and executive, join our team and come on board as COO. Sandeep has deep expertise and an exceptional track record in scaling businesses to take advantage of developing market opportunities, which will be critical as Appcelerator scales to meet the massive demand of mobility in the enterprise.”
Meanwhile, Johri shares his insights on this new role and the potential of Appcelerator to further lead the market:
“Appcelerator is the leading open-source based mobile app platform. Smart phones and tablets have transformed the mobile consumer experience, yet enterprise mobility is still in its infancy. The consumerization of IT is driving enterprises to become more agile and discover new sources of revenue and customer engagement, and Appcelerator is the company that can get them there. I look forward to working with the Appcelerator team to scale adoption of its platform and reach massive enterprise adoption.”
Mobile market demands spur company growth
As their mobile and tablet application-developing platform grows, the addition of industry veteran Johri will bring the organization an aid that was substantially responsible in driving HP’s $57 billion conglomerate. Moreover, his expertise will open gates for improvements within the cloud solutions arm of the business.
Appcelerator seems to be on a hiring spree spree as they propel industry innovations, focusing significantly on mobile services. They started the year with the appointment of two Adobe veterans to head Research and Development operations as Appcelerator expands across the EMEA region. This continental invasion commenced in November of last year after a successful bid to gain $15 million in Series C funding. Less than a week after the engineers entered the R&D department, Appcelerator hired Gartner Analyst Michael King as the premier consultant of more than 1,000 enterprises that leverage their platform.
