Jaspersoft OEM’s Keen on Hadoop, Add Support
Business intelligence software solutions maker Jaspersoft announced it has entered into an OEM agreement with Talend to bring Hadoop to Jaspersoft BI Suite 4.5. Specifically, Talend’s technology will be integrated into ETL, Jaspersoft’s data integration engine and a part of the company’s flagship lineup.
“With Jaspersoft ETL, CIOs, data scientists, and BI Builders gain the greatest flexibility to choose from three options to connect Big Data environments for reporting and analyses including native batch, real-time analysis, and batch analysis through ETL data mart access. Under a new original equipment manufacturing agreement with Talend, Jaspersoft strengthens its ETL support for Big Data analysis and shortens the time it takes to connect to, analyze, and extract advanced insights from Big Data.”
The upgraded ETL will offer business users dashboards and other means of visualization in order to simplify decision-making, while reducing latency and the time it takes to connect to Hadoop. Data scientists can access MPP and NoSQL databases directly from within Jaspersoft’s platform, in addition to Hive and HBase, all while using the functionality provided by Jaspersoft to process their data.
Hadoop is all the rage in the big data space, and Jaspersoft is one of the several BI firms that decided to extend support for Hadoop in recent months. It’s also been focusing on forging key partnerships to expand its ecosystem, from the latest deal with Talend, to an earlier agreement with Red Hat.
Last month it was the latter that decided to OEM Jaspersoft’s software, integrating JasperReports Server into Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.0. The value proposition is a fairly straight-forward one: customers can bring their data centers to the cloud with Red Hat, and analyze their infrastructure with Jaspersoft to optimize utilization and minimize overheads.
