Google Partner Cloud Sherpas Merges with Salesforce.com Partner GlobalOne
Cloud Sherpas, a Google Enterprise partner and consulting firm, will announce tomorrow that it is merging with GlobalOne, a Salesforce.com partner and services provider. The new company will keep the Cloud Sherpas name. In addition, the new combined firm has announced it has raised $20 million from Columbia Capital, the same firm that last year invested $15 million in GlobalOne.
Cloud Sherpas has been growing like crazy, with 300% growth for a third consecutive year last year. Also last year Cloud Sherpas acquired fellow Google Apps consultants Omnetic last year. Earlier this year Cloud Sherpas was named Google Partner of the Year for 2011.
This move helps both companies extend into new services markets and poses a challenge to Appirio and Unisys, both of which are also focusing efforts on implementing SaaS solutions.
ServicesAngle
It’s prudent for these two companies to merge and thereby diversify their respective services. Google Apps and Salesforce.com are two of the fastest growing enterprise software-as-a-services and customers often need help migrating to the cloud. But being dedicated to solely one vendor is rarely a good idea.
