SAP President Resigns for Unknown Reason
In a statement released this week SAP said Robert Courteau, the man in charge of its operations and sales in North America, has left the company. He’s been with the business software maker since 2004, and has been serving as president of the NA region for over a year.
Global sales head Robert Enslin has become the interim president while a permanent replacement is found.
“The U.S. business accounted for 26 percent of SAP’s revenue last year, according to Bloomberg data,” Bloomberg reports. “Total revenue from the country rose 14 percent from 2010, exceeding the 12 percent growth reported for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Walldorf, Germany-based SAP fell as much as 93 cents, or 1.8 percent, to 50.32 euros and traded 1.3 percent lower as of 3:59 p.m. in Frankfurt. Oracle Corp. added 0.7 percent to $29.37 in New York.”
The news from SAP follows a similar update from Hewlett-Packard. Prith Banerjee, the now former senior vice president of HP Labs was the latest to jump ship among a relatively large number of other executives that decided to leave the company recently. He will stick around until April 15, which is the amount of time Hewlett-Packard’s HR team has been given to find a replacement to take charge of the R&D group.
FalconStor also had a recent executive change. The backup firm added a new member to its leadership team, and one who will presumably play a very important role in the shaping of the company’s vision. Gary Quinn is now responsible for managing FalconStor’s partner relations and sales, which is his area of expertise, a point that he has proven several times during his lengthy tenure at CA Technologies.
