If you’re feeling a little bit under the weather this morning, then you might just be interested in the Korean firm’s latest new offering – the S Health application, which has been rolled out today exclusively for users of the new, high end Android smartphone.

S Health, which was first announced at the same time as the SIII was unveiled, has been designed as a personal wellness application to help and encourage Galaxy SIII users to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

The app, which is compatible with a number of other essential healthcare gadgets such as blood pressure monitors, blood glucose meters and body composition scales, is able to build up a complete picture of the user’s overall health by collating various bits of data, and displaying an easy to understand break down of this information in a series of illustrated graphs.

Using S Health, Galaxy SIII owners will be able to track their ‘healthiness’ over time and use it to help prevent their health from deteriorating. While the app is unlikely to be able to prevent any possible cancer-causing carcinogens from phones from harming users, Samsung hope that S Health will prove to be especially useful for anyone suffering from chronic illnesses such as diabetes or high blood pressure.

Users can transfer medical data from their other devices via Bluetooth, or else enter information manually for essential elements of their health, such as their exercise, diet, intake of medication, blood pressure and more.

One of the interesting things about S Health is its social interaction. Unlike other medical apps before it, S Health is fully integrated with Twitter, Facebook and other social networks, allowing users to share their success stories online – something that Samsung says is a key factor in boosting people’s confidence and motivation when it comes to staying healthy.
