Stash 1.3 Beta has introduced a new “Pull Requests” feature that adds a social element to the Git repository management software. With Pull Requests, developers can review changes to a branch, discuss the changes with one another, and make modifications.
With a pull request button, you simply select the branch you are modifying, select the branch you want to merge it to, and add a brief description of your action. The Pull Requests provide a look at the merging branches, the request description, the status (open, closed, merged), and the participants involved in the development. All information about the Pull Requests, including comments, changes, and new pushes, are recorded so that developers can track its progress.
Stash gives you the ability to see the results of the final merge. Developers working on the project can comment directly on the code, which promotes a social media-like interaction where they can discuss the work and help each other find ways to improve it. Stash will list the oldest requests first, so that developers can focus on completing the outstanding requests in the order they were added.
Stash is a Git repository management tool for enterprise teams in need of an easy-to-use interface with simple user management, code traceability, and fast source browsing. Atlassian, the Sydney-based company behind Stash, recently released version 1.2 of the software. Version 1.3 is currently in Beta. Stash is only $10 for a company with 1 to 10 users but costs between $1,800 and $12,000 for companies with anywhere from 11 to 500 users.
