Bandwidth’s inetwork Launches Developer Challenge with $600K Reward

inetwork, a division of Bandwidth has launched a developer challenge named ‘The Voice App Igniter’, aimed at discovering the next disruptive voice and messaging application. It will involve giving a challenge to the developers to create the next groundbreaking ideas for scalable voice or messaging applications, with a reward of up to $600K.

Starting Monday (Oct. 22), app developers around the country will have a chance at obtaining $600,000 in services to bring their app dream to reality. inetwork is seeking the next disruptive voice and messaging application in the challenge. The company has also helped companies like Google, Pinger and Marchex, and wants to be an enterprise that changes that by finding passionate developers who will use unlimited calling capabilities to ignite their idea.

“Today’s market is rife with talented developers poised to deliver the next solution that will dramatically shape one of the hottest areas in the industry as more users steer away from traditional solutions. But you can get bogged down in telecom’s weeds, or lack the guidance or funds to get a great idea off the ground,” added Leonard. “We are excited to engage developers looking to do more than just sell a dial tone and help fuel their passion to pioneer applications that drive new demand in this growth segment,” executive vice president and general manager of inetwork.

Interested developers will have to submit a short video explaining their innovative way to use a phone number that should address how the application could break new ground with access to up to one million phone numbers and unlimited calling capabilities. Submissions will start on Monday, October 22, 2012 through November 26, 2012. The winner will be announced on December 3, 2012.
