Newvem iOS App Brings Amazon Cloud Metrics to iPhone and iPad
Newvem, the cloud analytics and optimization company, unveiled the first-ever native iOS app to help companies manage their Amazon Web Services (AWS) from mobile.
Newvem says its new Cloud Smart Meter for AWS, optimized for iPad and iPhone, allows CIOs, IT managers, and developers to analyze and track their companies’ Amazon cloud deployments including what’s currently not working, spending, assets, and how is the AWS usage from anywhere and at any time.
The new app used in conjunction with Newvem Analytics (Cloud Smart Meter) on the back end will help IT managers to identify issues, unexpected trends in costs, operational risks, analyzes AWS cloud usage, inventory as well as recommendation to address these issues.
“Current mobile apps do not take full advantage of the feature-rich iPad and iPhone native environment that can provide a true smart meter experience for AWS users,” says Zev Laderman, co-founder and CEO of Newvem. “Our iPad and iPhone app allows CIOs and IT managers to easily and clearly see how much of their AWS is currently in use and subsequently use only what they need. Ultimately, AWS users win with an intuitive and effective experience that helps them to always have what they want to know at any time and from any place, thus enabling a more profitable, scalable, and efficient cloud.”
In addition, the app can help improve security of AWS customers by notifying them of open ports on machines. It also offers powerful sharing tool for easy team collaboration, course correction, and decision making, and help reduce operating costs by giving IT manager data on underutilized services.
“Today, when more and more companies – both small and large – are moving to the cloud, there is increased awareness of the cloud’s costs, utilization, security, and availability on a 24/7 basis,” said Ilan Naslavsky, chief technology officer and co-founder of Newvem. “Our iOS application frees AWS management from the desktop and provides a clear analysis of cost trends, and usage improvement opportunities for cloud professionals — directly from the palm of their hand at any time.”
Newvem recently launched Amazon S3 Analytics providing cloud analytics and cloud users to make informed and strategic Amazon S3 management and storage decisions.
