PwC’s U.S. division snatched up Ray Group International, a consultancy that specializes in providing technology services to the public sector. Terms of the deal, announced here, were not disclosed.
Ray Group International’s new homepage states that the company maintains relations in “every cabinet agency,” including the DoD in areas. The firm offers advice on standard topics such as such as project management and financial planning, as well as data protection.
The Obama administration is very intent on bullet-proofing the United States’ critical infrastructure from potentially devastating cyber assaults, and the re-election only reinforced this commitment. The government is drawing from the private sector’s security know-how to put the proper measures in place, and companies such RGI are supplying a lot of the talent that’s needed to pull off this undertaking. The acquisition is a big milestone for PwC’s public sector business.
“We are very pleased to welcome Ray Group’s highly skilled team of professionals to PwC’s Public Sector practice,” said Scott McIntyre, PwC’s U.S. Public Sector Practice Leader.
“The core skill set of the RGI team strongly complements PwC’s existing services in healthcare IT, program management and communications consulting. Their client-centric approach mirrors our own, and we know they will bring tremendous additional value to our clients. PwC’s Public Sector practice helps solve critical issues that matter most to our federal government clients and this capability enhances our ability to add value to these complex challenges.”
Ray Group chief executive and founder Ronald Ray, president Michael Louden and chief operating officer Michael Louden have assumed senior positions within PwC, and RGI’s consultants are also joining the company. PwC did not specify what roles the Ray Group’s former management are currently serving in.
