Telerik Announces 2.0 Version of Test Studio for iOS
Telerik recently announced the availability of Version 2.0 of its Test Studio for iOS. Test Studio is a free downloadable app which provides iOS developers with both test automation and user feedback within a single solution to ensure that all their iOS apps–web, native and hybrid–work as expected, prior to launch.
With more than a million apps available in Apple’s App Store, iOS developers face fierce competition with each other, and with mobile consumers who expect apps to work flawlessly. So now, more than ever, one of the most essential parts of shipping an app is making sure the app works. It sounds simple, but in actuality, testing and updating can be a daunting, time consuming and repetitious process, especially when trying to reconcile and force updates on various devices.
As part of this release of Test Studio, new cloud-based features are being rolled out to give iOS developers even more control and opportunity to get real-time feedback from end-users and to track automated tests and results.
Some of Test Studio for iOS feature highlights are:
• The first product of its kind to provide support for web, native and hybrid iOS apps, including native iOS controls.
• Test Studio for iOS does not rely on image-based element detection but employs object-based recording. All recorded test steps are based on element locators, ensuring that the correct element is targeted when tests are played back.
• The only automated testing tool for mobile (iOS) websites and apps that is currently available for free on the Apple App Store.
“Test Studio for iOS is a serious mobile testing solution,” said Christopher Eyhorn, Executive Vice President, Telerik Testing Division. “Unlike competitors, Test Studio for iOS combines mobile test automation and end-user feedback into a single product to help iOS developers throughout the entire app launch process. It is a free tool that provides in-depth test automation capabilities, ensuring the quality of iOS apps and websites are on par with user expectations.”
As a special introductory offer, the cloud sync of tests, results and feedback feature will be available for free until May 2013. So, grab it now! Also currently available for free, until May 1st, to developers is Telerik Icenium–of which, Icenium Ion allows for cloud-centric and easy provisioning of new iOS apps.
