Samsung Galaxy S4 Hits US Stores This Month : See Price, Retailer Details
Samsung has announced that its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy SIV, will be hitting carriers and retail shops later this month.
The Galaxy SIV was announced mid-March, and everyone has been drooling over the device’s Jedi-like features, such as Smart Screen, Air gesture, and AirView, that lets you control the device without actually touching the screen.
Samsung has announced that the device will be available on 7 US carrier networks: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, U.S. Cellular, Cricket and C Spire, as well as retail shops across the country such Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile, Costco, Radio Shack, Sam’s Club, Staples, Target and Wal-Mart.
Pricing and release dates for the SIV will depend on the carriers and retail shops, but T-Mobile and Sprint have already announced their plans ahead of the competition.
The Galaxy SIV will be available at T-Mobile on the 24th of April, with a $149 downpayment and a $20 monthly installment fee for 24 months. For Sprint, the device will be available on the 27th of April, and pricing starts at $249.99 with a 2-year contract for current subscribers, while news subscribers will get to enjoy the device at a lower price of $149.99.
“The Galaxy S line of smartphones has achieved momentous success with 100 million in unit sales worldwide in less than three years. This validates that we are addressing what consumers want from a smartphone,” said Dale Sohn, president of Samsung Telecommunications America.
“The fourth generation of Samsung’s flagship device builds upon the tradition of excellence and provides consumers with even more innovation that simplifies and redefines the way individuals will interact with their Galaxy S 4. We believe this device will be a true companion to all aspects of a consumer’s life from work, to travel and even watching TV.”
The Galaxy SIV is said to be the device that other 2013 devices have to live up to and so far, compared to smartphones released earlier this year, it takes the cake right off the bat. Though some may argue that the features of the Galaxy SIV aren’t exactly new and original, and not that impressive, the fact that Samsung managed to reel a lot of awesome features in one phone, is pretty impressive since no one has really done that.
