GoodBox – Partnership from GoodData and Box Delivers Big Data, Big Results

GoodData says Big Data is good for everyone, it’s just too bad that Big Data is not for everyone to implement.  That’s the notion behind their flexible and simple-to-use Big Data cloud-based product and it is seeing business go through the roof.  Last quarter they hit ten thousand customers, up from eight thousand the previous quarter.  They’ve also tripled their revenue in that quarter and closed seven annual contracts at over $250,000.  Sounds good right, well it seems they are stepping up their game with a new product:

The GoodBox Bash from GoodData is a cloud-based application that allows Box customers to process, view, and analyze key business data about the effectiveness of highly-collaborative teams, like sales and marketing. GoodBox provides critical data your company needs to optimize efficiency and strategic decision making across your organization.

Today’s announcement should make some big waves.  GoodData and Box have announced an expanded partnership that offers improved collaboration capabilities with the introduction of GoodBox Bash.   The app is cloud based, and allows analytic and visualized insights to business data that is shared throughout an organization.  So as companies utilize Box in their environments, GoodData’s Bash is tuned to track data in real time, and the business can do a number of things such as gauge, track, compare, and target information.  We know what that means – it means insight, it means business value that for the most part is typically quite the undertaking on so many levels.  With GoodBox – it’s cut right out of the box, quick launch, and quick results – and that is something that is unique and set to make some rather big waves.

“Enterprises are simultaneously facing a deluge of data and a deficit of real, actionable intelligence about how information is shared and used to drive their business,” said Aaron Levie, co-founder and CEO of Box. “That lack of understanding leads to risk and lost productivity. The combination of GoodData and Box solves this challenge by giving IT an unprecedented amount of visibility and real-time analytics around their business content. It’s the foundation for a more secure, efficient and intelligent enterprise.”

Realizing the benefits of analyzing specific unvalued data can be a huge difference in time savings, cost savings, strategic decisions and so on.  The partnership is one that boasts solid.  In a briefing with Roman Stanek, he talked about the energy within this synergistic alliance.  As the alignment brings the best of two popular and emerging enterprise computing trends in analytics and cloud storage.  At the same time, the product delivers on everything the enterprise needs from a product such as manageability, scale, ease-of-use, security, and more.

A customer story tells of their GoodBox success:

“Moving forward we have a strong focus on the customer adoption of the systems and solutions that Corporate IT provides to the business,” said Damian Fasciani, Technology Services Manager at REA Group. “GoodBox has the potential to allow us to measure and manage how content management is growing and being utilised across all lines of business. Measuring the impact of these tools is critical in defining how we are driving productivity through technology. Eventually, we expect to be able to provide predictive solutions based on the information GoodBox is gathering for us.”

GoodBox is gearing into the territory where Salesforce, Oracle and SAP have a longstanding foothold in the industry; they enter this realm with easy-to-use and implement analytic power.  As far as GoodData is concerned, the name encompasses exactly some of the biggest issues in Big Data – Identifying the data you’re looking for, Identifying the data source, and data quality. (throw in capacity for good measure).  GoodData and GoodBox answer these questions with an intriguing ready-made option for the enterprise that is available right now.  GoodBox is something for everybody in the industry to watch.
