Weekly DevOps Roundup: Cloud Based Server Metrics Agent, OpManager for Large Enterprises
Load Impact has announced the first cloud-based Server Metrics Agent that will assist developers with avoiding bottlenecks and scalability obstacles. Panorama9 enhances its offerings in the IT management department with greater collaboration, integration with helpdesk software, and a better sense of who-what-where. And, ManageEngine has announced the general availability of OpManager Large Enterprise Edition, adding to its already excellent suite of network management tools tools.
Cloud-based Server Metrics Agent
Load Impact, the cloud-based, on-demand load testing service, recently introduced the first cloud-based Server Metrics Agent that allows developers to detect, predict and analyze server problems proactively. It means that it will be possible for developers to detect problems even before existence, and identify where performance bottlenecks and scalability problems exist in their code or infrastructure.
“Pinpointing issues is half the battle of solving them. Server metrics are a pretty standard part of old-school load testing software, which is complex, inflexible, super expensive and requires hardware and specialists to manage and use. The Load Impact Server Metrics agent is really the first of its kind. None of the other new-generation cloud-based load testing services have it today, said Ragnar Lönn, Load Impact founder and CEO.
The best part of this new Server Metrics Agent is that measurements taken from it can be correlated with other measurements collected during load tests, and results are made available as a time series that can also be viewed in graph format on the Test Results page, or exported to CSV.
Cloud-based Tools for MSP
Panorama9, a cloud-based IT management platform, has released a significant update to its MSP Interface which offers greater control and ease-of-use. The updated Interface offers some of the most advanced cloud-based tools available for MSP. Not only can MSPs can monitor all clients from a single, streamlined dashboard–the new design will blow all other competitors out of the water with its sleek, intuitive design.
“The latest additions give both MSPs and their clients the peace of mind that all areas of concern are being properly monitored and addressed. No matter how many clients an MSP has, they can track all activity and alerts from a single view, then easily drill down and focus on a particular area or client,” said Panorama9 CEO, Allan Thorvaldsen.
Building on the launch of the Partner Program in February, the new release adds features such as:
- Enhanced collaboration tools
- Greater granularity on admin permission tools
- Templates for client notifications and weekly/monthly reports
- Advanced Zendesk integration
- Seamless integration with other helpdesk systems
With greater collaboration, granularity, and helpdesk integration, Panorama9 looks to be on top of their game.
