Smart home perks for your furry friends
This weeks SmartDevice roundup features everything your furry pal needs to stay happy, comfortable, and above all things, connected.
T-Pai
By 2015, we can expect small breed dogs owned by the rich and famous to be lounging around their very own luxury smart homes. The T-Pai Automatic Intelligent Dog House is designed in the form of a London double decker bus. The top floor is where your little pooch can get grub, be entertained and even communicate with his owner. It has an automatic feeder, which can be set to give the dog food at specified times, a tablet with apps for entertainment and education, a smart temperature system to keep your little friend constantly comfortable, and a heated bed on the other side which also wirelessly charges the tracking collar your dog is wearing.
The lower part of the smart dog house is where your pet will be doing his or her business. The auto toilet gives off a specific scent to attract your pet to do the deed there and not somewhere else in this smart dog house. While your pet is in the automatic toilet, a gate comes up to prevent your pet from leaving before business is done. The automatic toilet flushes waste down a chamber, where it will be broken down and sterilized.
PetChatz
Our pets are dependent on us, so leaving them even just for a few hours when we go to work can seem like an eternity for them, and they can get restless. With PetChatz, you can interact with your pet even when you’re away so they won’t miss you too much.
It has a screen and camera so you and your pets can see each other, along with a mic and speakers. You can use the site or a mobile app to interact with your pet, dispense treats, and you can even use special pads customized with your dogs favorite scents. You can now pre-order PetChatz for $349.
Feed and Go
Feed and Go is a smart pet feeder that also doubles as a communication device. It connects via WiFi and uses the web or a smartphone app to control when to feed your pet.
Unlike other automatic feeders, it accommodates both wet and dry food, tightly sealed in separate containers, and only one portion will be accessible to the pet. It has a camera so you can see if your pet is eating, or use it just to check on your pet, and you can even record your voice on Feed and Go and use it to call you furry pal when it’s feeding time, or call him over so you can check on him. Feed and Go is available for $199.95
