Facebook introduces stickers to timeline comments
Facebook, Inc. is now rolling out stickers for users’ timelines. The feature was previously only available in the messaging section and Facebook Messenger app. Timeline post, group post and event post comments will now allow for the large-format post-emoticon age stickers.
A good portion of the stickers are what many would consider “cute” and “cheerful”, while others are simply more functional, like the famous Facebook “Like” hand that can be made to hold a heart, flowers, display a peace sign and show other gestures. It also includes a plethora of smiley faces to help users better express their emotions.
The addition of stickers in comments began as a Hackathon project in New York. The developers managed to get it up and running on the web version of Facebook in a single night. It was eventually built for mobile not long after that. On the announcement post, many people tested out some of the newly-available stickers in the comments. The feature is available now on both the web and mobile versions of Facebook.com.
