Convergence is the new way for enterprises to buy infrastructure | #HPDiscover

Nariman Teymourian

Convergence as a new way for customers to purchase infrastructure with Hewlett-Packard Co. Nariman Teymourian, SVP & GM, HP Converged Systems explained that customers “are not buying pieces anymore, they are buying infrastructure in a way that comes with a management layer on top.” In a live interview with SiliconANGLE’s roving news desk, theCUBE, at HP Discover this week, Teymourian added that “convergence is really around bringing different pieces of compute, storage, and networking together so that you can have a specific business outcome, while converged systems revolve around creating purpose-built systems.”

Convergence is “currently moving towards a software defined concept,” Teymourian explained. As a result, the automation layer is becoming an important aspect of the business. “The new hyperconverged boxes are designed to have a very simple front-end management solution that is able to deliver a very specific outcome.” Teymourian said.

Explaining the Converges System strategy, Teymourian said that the recipe of success is to “pick a problem to solve that is real and you have customers suffering from whatever that complexity is, stay focused, and having “a solution that is fast, efficient and simple.”
