The Interview now available on Google Play, Youtube & Xbox
Seth Rogan and James Franco fans will have something extra to celebrate this Christmas with news that The Interview is now available on Google Play, YouTube and Xbox.
The distribution of the movie had previously been canned following threats from North Korean backed hackers, a move that was condemned by many, including President Obama.
Surprisingly the movie is not being made available on Sony owned Crackle and Playstation Network (PSN), but can be purchased through the Sony site seetheinterview.com. Playstation owners can purchase the movie via the Youtube app.
Another notable exclusion is Apple, who the New York Times reports was not interested, at least not on a speedy time table.
Sony has not said publicly why The Interview isn’t available through PSN…it could be a case that Sony is concerned about being targeted by hackers yet again.
As we reported December 23rd, the movie is also being given a “limited theatrical release” across some 200 screens in the United States.
$5.99 is the price you’ll be asked to pay if you’re interested in seeing it legally. The movie sits at 54% on Rotten Tomatoes which isn’t a glowing endorsement, but fairly high for yet another Seth Rogan/ James Franco romcom.
