The Cloud is not something soft and fluffy, but a stronghold for storage akin to a traditional safe, according to Calex, Inc.’s Jill Von Berg,VP of IT, and Ravi Gade, senior director of IT. The duo spoke to theCUBE during the Oracle Cloud Platform Launch about how Oracle-integrated Cloud services support the Calix strategy to move everything from on-premise into the Cloud.
“We put our data somewhere that is safe,” Von Berg said. “We are using an integration platform that is safe, and that’s our vision for the future.”
Oracle not only provides safe storage, but ease of accessibility and drastically reduced time frames. Von Berg believes it has always paid off to go for the Cloud.
“There is no way, theoretically and realistically, that a company can look at the same functionality and do it one time, versus a company that is doing it for everybody,” she said.
