It’s that time of the year again when America celebrates its independence — and grill masters fire up to the delight of family and friends.
Grilling is an art, and it is now just as important to use the right tools as it is to have a delicious family recipe for great barbeque and cooking that meat to perfection.
So what new tools can geeky grillmasters add to their arsenals?
Grilling is tricky. Some meats need to cook longer than others, and that can be hard to track. You don’t want to dry out meats by overcooking, nor do you want undercooked meat. To combat these potential nightmares, Lynx Grills, Inc. offers the Smartgrill. It features voice activation, temperature control using a smartphone app, and temperature sensors that measure heat output at the cooking surface.
It doesn’t use charcoal, so preheating is easy; just turn on the knob, and your grill is good to go in seconds. The app helps you determine the right grilling temperature of each meat, as well as how long they should cook. And it also delivers hundreds of recipes right to the palm of your hand. Price of the Smartgrill starts at $6,999.
You don’t want to stay out too long in the hot sun, but you also want to keep an eye on what’s cooking on your grill. The answer may lie in the Ivation Long-Range Wireless Thermometer, which allows users to monitor food from up to 300 meters away. You can purchase the device on Amazon for $59.99.
If you use charcoal for grilling, you know how frustrating it can be to get them burning. You need lots of matches, paper and even lighter fluid to start a fire, which could take about 15 minutes or longer.
Hammacher Schlemmer & Co., Inc. offers the 60-second charcoal starter for only $79.95, so you can start grilling in just five minutes. It uses technology similar to that used in paint-stripping hot-air guns, emitting constant, precise hot air at 1,290 F.
The Pit Pal BBQ App allows for more consistent barbeque with the use of historical tracking of cooks and results, taking into consideration variables such as temperature and duration of cook, rub/sauce, type of wood or charcoal used, that can affect the cook.
The app connects seamlessly with the BBQ Guru Wi-Fi and Stoker Wi-Fi, which are devices that monitor and control the temperature of your grill even if you’re away, as it connects to your home’s Wi-Fi network.
The Flame King YSNHTT Hybrid BBQ Temperature BBQ Tongs is an all-in-one tong and digital fork that features a large LCD display so you can clearly see what temperature your meat is, no more guessing. With this, you eliminate the need for multiple tools, making grilling a bit easier. You can get this hybrid tong for $19.99 on Amazon.com.
Have an awesome 4th of July BBQ!
